The use of technology in our office allows
us to enhance our patient's comfort, promote education, and
deliver safe, effective treatment. Our office uses equipment
and materials that have proven excellence.
Intraoral Camera
Our
intraoral camera uses a tiny fiber-optic wand to easily
take vivid photographs of the inside of your mouth. This
will provide you with a tooth by tooth video exam of your
teeth that you can see enlarged in living color on our computer
screen in the treatment room. We can freeze and store the
picture of the inside of your mouth for a bigger and better
look and then take an instant photograph for your records.
This painless, no radiation technique allows us to let
you see what we see. Problems such as worn-out fillings,
fractured teeth, small cracks and fissures in the tooth
anatomy. decay, trauma, bleeding gums and plaque can be
magnified and clearly visible. Together we can discuss your
treatment plan with you for restoring your mouth to optimal
health.
With our intraoral camera:
OralCDx
OralCDx represents a breakthrough in oral cancer detection,
a test that will allow you and your dentist to improve the
prognosis of a disease that has remained unchanged for the
last 50 years.
OralCDx is the first computerized brush biopsy system.
It allows dentists to quickly, painlessly and reliably detect
oral cancer in its earliest, most easily treatable stage.
Originally developed as part of the Star Wars
missile defense program, the OralCDx computer system includes
a neural network-based image processing system specifically
adapted to detect abnormalities unique to oral brush biopsy
samples.
The
Dental Chair Potato
Our Dental
Chair Potato is an overhead multimedia display that
allows patients to comfortably watch TV, intraoral camera
or computer images, videos, or movies. The integrated fiber-optic
dental light shines in the patient's mouth - not in the
eyes, providing an unobstructed, glare-free, heat-free experience.
Our patients are comfortable, relaxed and entertained while
we are providing them with excellent dental care.
DIAGNOdent
The DIAGNOdent is a new high tech laser system that
aids in early diagnosis of cavities in the complex
anatomy of the chewing surfaces of teeth. It utilizes
laser light of a defined wavelength to help detect
and quantify demineralized tooth substances without
x-ray exposure.

Ultrasonic Cleaning
The
cavitron is an ultrasonic scaler. Power scalers do a more
thorough job in less time. This results in significantly
decreased scaling time and healthier, cleaner teeth and
gums. Hand scalers require repetitive scrapping movements
and are restricted to adaptation of only one or two sides
of the instrument. In comparison, all four sides of a power
scaler can be adapted, because the device moves in an elliptical
motion. This comes in handy when removing stain and deposits
from behind and between the teeth. Ultrasonic scalers are
more effective in removing stain as well. The ultrasonic
vibration helps control oral bacteria by breaking down the
cell wall of the bacteria. The water used to cool the cavitron
then helps to rinse away bacteria, stain and debris.
Power
Bleaching
For In-Office bleaching, we utilize the advanced
Zoom! light-activated process.
Voice-activated Charting Software
| This system connects a computer database
to a wireless voice-activated headset so we can quickly,
easily, and accurately record individual measurements
when performing a periodontal exam. Because clinical
data are recorded directly into the computer, the voice
activated system reduces the potential for errors and
allows for greater accuracy. |

Veneers

New technology in veneer fabrication
allows us to perform dazzling transformations with
minimal surface preparation.

White fillings
|
Although white fillings have been
around for a long time, the new materials can now
be used in a wider range of applications allowing
you to keep your smile as white as it can be!

ViziLite
| Used in conjunction with a conventional
visual examination, the ViziLite test improves
identification, evaluation and monitoring of abnormalities
in those at increased risk for oral cancer. The ViziLite
Test Kit includes a handheld disposable light and mouth
rinse that work together to help detect abnormalities
that might not be visible to the unaided eye. |
